About the Role
Heritage PS Talent Solutions are working on behalf of our client.
Heritage PS Talent Solutions are thrilled to be working in partnership with a very well established, and highly successful manufacturing business in Leicester to recruit for an experienced Logistics Operator to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.
Main duties of the Logistics Operator:
- Performing manual picking of materials for transfer to the sheeting department.
- Utilising the warehouse management system to log daily deliveries, allocate orders, and monitor stock levels and locations.
- Using the production planning system to assess job progress.
- Handling the transportation and unloading of goods from various HGV/LGV vehicles, using counter-balance fork-lift trucks and manual pallet trucks.
- Collaborating with the Purchasing Department to ensure material availability and accuracy for production.
- Contributing to ongoing improvements within the Logistics department.
- Assisting other areas during peak periods.
- Receiving full training to operate the Guillotine when required.
- Moving reels from storage to sheeting using clamp trucks.
- Adhering strictly to health and safety protocols.
- Collaborating effectively as part of a team to optimise machine efficiency.
- Striving to achieve the highest quality standards by following established quality systems and meeting customer specifications.
- Conducting regular maintenance checks on Fork Lift Trucks.
- Performing necessary in-process checks and maintaining accurate records.
Requirements of the Logistics Operator role.
- Good people skills with the ability to work well in a team and on own initiative.
- Good level of verbal and written English communication skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
- Good level of IT Skills – Microsoft packages.
- Experience in a similar role within logistics, manufacturing or production
- Pallet truck experience
- FLT Counterbalance license
